Yin in Your Life

COMMUNITY CLASS: YIN IN YOUR LIFE

SATURDAYS* 11 AM
$5.00 or Free for Haven Members

Yin Yoga is a fusion of ancient India’s yogic asanas, traditional Chinese medicine, and modern discoveries on fascia (connective tissue) which utilizes long passive holds to go 'beyond' the muscles, resulting in increased flexibility, greater freedom of movement, and enhanced well-being.

This NEW Community Class is a series of Yin Yoga sequences in which each of the Five Elements in Chinese medicine will be explored. By relaxing into asanas connected to each element’s qualities, you will develop a deeper relationship with the Yin (receptive) energy within you.

This class is appropriate for individuals from beginners to advanced, and can be used as a primary practice or in conjunction with other exercise routines to support a holistic approach to long-term health.

Each 60 minute class is designed to stand on its own without prior attendance.

Yin poses are done while seated, kneeling or laying on the floor. Props such blocks, bolsters, rolled mats, etc. are often used. The Studio has a limited amount of blocks and mats available, so you may consider bringing additional items (such as pillows, blankets, etc.) for your comfort.

IMPORTANT:  If you are new to exercise or have health issues that may impact your ability to participate, please take responsibility for investigating the benefits of this class by seeking out the advise of a trusted professional before beginning.

* Class will not be held the last Saturday of each month; Classes begin in October and operate thru the end of the year.
